AUTOMOTIVE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCATE

Local Autmotive Legislative Advocates and Legislators for WMDA-CAR

WMDA-CAR: SINCE 1937, YOUR AUTOMOTIVE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCATE FOR MARYLAND, WASHINGTON DC, AND DELAWARE

WMDA-CAR is your automotive legislative advocate in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Delaware. We take your message directly to the politicians who will be voting on any proposed legislation that could affect your business. We testify and lobby in Annapolis, District of Columbia, and Dover, on behalf of our members. Our strong, engaging, and constant voice keeps ringing loud and clear in the ears of the politicians. This means that you can feel confident that your voice will be heard on the critical issues that affect the automotive industry, such as changes to automotive regulations and standards.

For automotive business owners, staying informed about legislative and regulatory changes can be difficult while managing the day-to-day demands of running a business. Proposed laws affecting labor, taxes, environmental regulations, vehicle repair standards, fuel sales, emissions requirements, insurance issues, and consumer protection rules can have a major impact on operating costs, compliance responsibilities, and long-term business planning. WMDA-CAR helps bridge that gap by monitoring legislative activity and communicating how proposed changes may affect our members.

Our role is not simply to respond after decisions are made. We work proactively to educate lawmakers, build relationships with decision-makers, and explain the real-world impact that proposed legislation can have on automotive service providers, repair shops, service stations, fuel retailers, car wash operators, and other businesses that serve motorists every day. By bringing the concerns of our members directly to Annapolis, Washington DC, and Dover, we help ensure that the automotive industry has a respected and informed voice in the legislative process.

WMDA-CAR also helps members better understand the issues that matter most to their businesses. Legislative language can be complex, and regulations are not always written with small and mid-sized business owners in mind. Our association works to clarify these issues, provide updates, and advocate for fair, practical policies that allow automotive businesses to operate successfully while continuing to serve their customers and communities.
Since 1937, WMDA-CAR has remained committed to protecting and strengthening the automotive industry throughout Maryland, Washington DC, and Delaware. Our long history gives us valuable perspective, but our focus remains firmly on the future. As the industry continues to evolve through new technologies, changing regulations, workforce challenges, and shifting consumer expectations, WMDA-CAR continues to stand with its members as a trusted legislative advocate and industry resource.

When you become a member of WMDA-CAR, you gain more than representation. You gain a partner that understands your business, monitors the issues that could affect your bottom line, and works every day to protect your interests. Our mission is to make sure automotive businesses are heard, respected, and represented wherever important decisions are being made.
